Welcome to Geek Out! I am the Cli3nt.

I should save the best news for last, but I just can’t wait that long. Obviously, Ubisoft didn’t like my feelings about The Division, so to get back in my good graces they announced yesterday that Watch Dogs 2 is set to launch in early 2017!!! While a specific date hasn’t been announced, their announcement included word the Assassin’s Creed franchise will be skipping a 2016 release during which time it will be “re-evaluated.”

Thank you Ubisoft, thank you thank you thank you!

And speaking of The Division an open beta testing of the game will run from February 19th through the 21st on Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Preloads of the beta will start on the 16th, and Xbox One will once again get access 24 hours before everyone else. The news comes with a new “enemy factions” trailer, and details on what additions have been made since the closed beta ended.

I’ll be giving The Division another chance to impress me, but I watched the new trailer and still don’t feel the excitement. Besides, Watch Dogs 2 is coming, I don’t need The Division now!

The Division isn’t the only game in the beta realm, the open-world first person shooter Homefront: The Revolution closed beta started yesterday. A living, breathing, open world responds to your actions – you and your Resistance Cell can inspire a rebellion on the streets and turn Occupation into Revolution, as oppressed civilians take up the fight. I’ll be jumping back into the beta after this show, so hit me up on Xbox. My gamertag: TheCli3nt, all one word.

Remedy has announced buyers of the Xbox One version of their third-person-shooter-action-game, with a time bending element, Quantum Break will receive a free copy for PC and a free copy of its previous game Alan Wake as well as its downloadable content.
Remedy’s quality of storytelling is badass and I expect this to rock too. Initially and Xbone exclusive its great news that a PC version is also coming. While I am cautiously optimistic, I hope it has great quality and polish in terms of visuals and performance.

An Xbox One Special Edition Quantum Break bundle was announced as well, and will include a copy of the game and 500GB Cirrus White Console

Blizzard’s Warcraft movie is only around four months away, set to release on June 10. And Legion, the latest expansion for World of Warcraft, is expected in September.
Now, word has gotten out that Blizzard is looking at a way to turn the movie into a direct marketing tool for the game. Dubbed the “Ultimate Movie Edition,” it is a version of World of Warcraft that would give moviegoers free access to WoW and its current expansions in advance of Legion‘s release in September.
News of the plan first broke on Reddit, where user fatsocks revealed that he’d gotten a survey from Blizzard with details of the Ultimate Movie Edition. A certified member of Blizzard’s customer support team has posted in the thread to confirm it is a legitimate Blizzard survey.

In a new Instagram post, Dwayne Johnson has announced the writers for the upcoming adaptation of the classic Midway arcade game Rampage for New Line Cinema, and it looks like it’ll be a full-on San Andreas reunion with that film’s writer Carlton Cuse as well as his “Colony” co-creator Ryan Condal to re-team with director Brad Peyton and producer Beau Flynn. Non-Stop screenwriter Ryan Engle wrote the previous draft of the screenplay, the story for which is said to be “under wraps,” though it will involve Johnson going toe-to-toe with the game’s three original beasties.

A Kickstarter campaign for OVERLOAD is now underway, seeking $300,000 to develop “the ultimate six-degree-of-freedom shooter” by Revival Productions. The developer is looking to revive the genre they helped pioneer back when they helped create the original Descent back in their days at Parallax Software. The plan is to make this for Windows and consoles, but their first stretch goal of $350K will add Linux and OS X versions. Check out their Kickstarter campaign, which I’ve linked below.

Not much has popped up newsworthy, at least to me, in the tech industry except the price of the upcoming Tesla Model 3 electric car: $35,000 in the U.S.. However that comes before any incentives or subsidies from state and federal authorities, which in some cases could bring the price down to an impressively low $22,000. Uh, Elon Musk, I will whore myself out for one of your cars. Call me!

And now, let’s head on over to Wicked’s Dungeon for the latest in music.

Welcome to Wicked’s Dungeon. Obviously, I am not Wicked, I am in fact The Cli3nt. Wicked is out sick, but she’ll be back next week.

On this day in music history, a full frontal nude black and white photo taken in 1979 of Madonna was sold for $37,500. The photo of the at the time 20-year-old dancer was a way to make ends meet. I’m gonna have to go check that out.

I am very pleased to announce that today we have a new music video from a rapper out of California named Penny. Wicked and I were lucky enough to meet Penny recently while he was here in Idaho. And we scored this autographed CD he just happened to have on him. So whether or not you have heard of this independent artist, you should go check him and his music out. And speaking of autographed CD’s, hey TekForce, what’s up dude? Once again our mailperson did not deliver that autographed CD you said you were going to send! Totally making Wicked and I feel unloved.

If you talk to me for longer than five minutes in real life, you know that nerdcore is my genre of choice. However, every once in a while I do like a little metal. So it is my pleasure to tell you about my friend Adam who is a member of the Virginia based metal band Back Blast. Since the release of their 2015 EP, the group has finally made the transition from hard rock to metal. They are currently in the studio recording their first full length album scheduled to be released in the summer of 2016 to coincide with a regional tour. And of course Wicked will be bringing you more Back Blast details on future shows, but until then you should download their single Stand Down.

And Scotty Wu has released a new album, Bolo Suite 27. You can grab it for only $13 which is pretty damn cheap for a 27 track album.

And Fat Royale has released a new track with Kordlyss called Fap Card. Personally, I’m not interested in listening to dudes talking about masturbation, but hey, it has a good beat … get it? Good beat?! (laugh) Oh man, I crack myself up sometimes…

So all of the music I have shared with you today is linked below. You should definitely go and get it. And until next time, this is Wicked’s Dungeon. Now back to me, in the studio.

Now before we go, I have one last thing I’m excited to introduce. As some of you know, I have hemophilia and have wrestled with its effects on my body for years and years causing me to collect disability. And believe me, I’d much rather have a 9-5 job. Geek Out! is supported solely on the little bit of money I can save each month. Some fans and supporters of Geek Out have asked how they can more fully support the show. So Wicked and I have put together a Patreon campaign for Geek Out. For those of you unfamiliar, Patreon is a place where fans can financially support their favorite shows and projects on a monthly basis in exchange for back rewards. Head on over to patreon.thecli3nt.com and check out the backer rewards we have in place. If you like what you see, and would like to help make the show better, become a Patreon. Every dollar donated goes back into producing the best episodes of Geek Out possible and any and all support, financial, sharing or otherwise is ALWAYS appreciated.

Thank you for watching, please let us know what you thought of today’s show in the comments below. I am the Cli3nt

The Cli3nt

I am 43-years-old, a hemophiliac, the co-founder of GamersRevenge.com, a blogger at TheCli3nt.com, part-time YouTuber (Geek Out! videocast) and Twitch streamer.
I'm an old-school gamer, having started playing video games back in 1977 on the Atari 2600 (even managed to place 6th in Jafco's Atari Pac-Man tournament in 1982). I first began abusing games shortly after my best friend introduced me to Quake. By the time Quake II was released, I was addicted.
After being found, in May 2008, passed out in front of my computer with a mouse cord wrapped around my arm and over 100 flash drives scattered around my body, I sobered up. To help maintain my sobriety, I switched to single player console gaming.
In my life outside of the Wasteland, yes, I do have one --- wait, that's a lie. I have my Xbox One, Plex media server, high-speed internet, and Dax the Magnificent (my furry four-legged child).
